Senator Cynthia Lummis has been confirmed as the chair of the newly created Senate Banking Digital Assets subcommittee. This subcommittee, formed after Republicans gained control of the Senate in the November elections, will focus exclusively on digital assets. The panel includes other Senators such as Thom Tillis, Bill Hagerty, Ruben Gallego, Dave McCormick, and Tina Smith. The committee's formation aligns with Congress's efforts to uphold President Donald Trump’s pro-crypto policies. Economists believe that Lummis is in a strong position to advance her proposed bill to create a US federal strategic crypto reserve. Lummis, known as Wyoming’s pro-crypto enforcer, has been a vocal advocate for the cryptocurrency industry.
